KSI Shares Its Bitcoin Investing Experience
Popular rapper and Youtuber KSI shared his experience investing in bitcoin on the Private Parts podcast, which was published on Thursday.
KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, is also known as JJ. In 2019, he was ranked second by The Sunday Times in its list of the UK’s 100 Greatest Influencers. He is also part of the British YouTube group Sidemen. The British influencer has recently become a huge fan of cryptocurrency.
He was asked about a rumor that he put “a lot” of money into bitcoin. Then KSI revealed that it invested 2 million pounds ($2.75 million) in BTC in November or December last year, but later lost money when the bitcoin market crashed. He said:
Yes, I invested 2 million pounds in Bitcoin. Well, you said bitcoin… [But] This was in cryptocurrency. You won £7 million, and now you’ve lost it all.
“I got lucky with £7m, but I should have been smart and took that money to Fiat and then waited for everything to fall and come back again,” he said, acknowledging he had drifted away from the bull market.
KSI added, “It was a complete journey, but I had to give it a try. I had to really dig into the whole crypto space, you know, I totally understand that now. I invested money in things where I basically benefited myself and got so leveraged that I lost. Money, because I got liquidated, so I invested a lot of money in something that got liquidated because of the bitcoin crash.”
Commenting on the loss of millions of dollars from investing in cryptocurrency, the Youtube star said, “I was like, OK, a big rat,” detailing:
it is what it is. I will move. There is no point in crying over spilled milk, and you realize that during a bear market is the time when you want to invest in things.
He was also asked if investing in bitcoin is like gambling. He said: No, I don’t think so. I don’t think it’s gambling. It is not gambling. no no no no. Bitcoin is here to stay. It’s the future. It’s just that no one wants to accept it… same with Ethereum. Yes, of course, everything fluctuates, but it is rising. ”
If you go back and look at the whole picture, it is slowly rising, and eventually you will get $100,000 in bitcoin, $500,000 in bitcoin, and $1 million in bitcoin. it will happen.
As the famous rapper explained: “Maybe it will take 5, 10, 15, 20 years, but it will happen, you have to remember, there is no inflation in Bitcoin … by a central bank.”
